RACE CONCEPT
TranSierra Norte is a multi-day Mountain Bike race where advanced and expert racers from all over the world meet up to partake in the famous Mexican tradition known as “The Day of the Dead”.
Racing bikes along the North Mountain Range of Oaxaca, this event intends to push trail exploration. Having new tracks to blind-race every year, while also supporting the growth of the outdoor industry in the communities of the Oaxacan Sierra Norte and promoting the culture and festivities in the region while having a bike party packed with an authentic Mexican flavor.
RACE FORMAT
Based on the “Enduro” racing protocol this race will be an individual race with 16-22 timed stages with an average of 90% descending and the other 10% will be a mix of flat sections and short climbs. Some of the transitions will be pedaling while others will be shuttle assisted.
Every day has to be completed on a pre-established overall time; otherwise, a time penalty will be applied to the participant. The total sum of the timed stages will be the final result.
